While Glen was out, it seems Lucy has grown up in many ways.
Walking:
She was already walking, but now she will walk, fall down and stand back up rather than crawl to furniture (the couch) to pull herself up.
Additionally, she can maneuver her stroller around instead of just walking in a straight line and having us turn her around.
Drinking:
Lucy picks up her sippy cup with her teeth and starts to drink for a bit before using her hands. It looks like some kind of circus trick. The look on Glen's face was hilarious when he saw her do it for the first time. I forgot he hadn't seen it this yet.
Talking:
As mentioned before, she learned to say Hi Caitlin (my niece).
No was a word she used to just mimick but now she uses it whenever she wants to. However, it sounds like she has a stopped up nose because her No comes out Doh.
Yesterday in the car Lucy was trying to get out of her car seat so I said "No." When she stopped, I said thank you. She repeated it after me. Now if she could only put these words together and say no, thank you.
Glen has been reading a Sandra Boynton book called Perritos. With each page, he makes more and more different kinds of dog sounds. One page is about dogs howling in the moonlight. Now Lucy howls like a dog when we play with her and her stuffed dog.
Singing:
The most enjoyable bit of development this week has been her singing. There's something about hearing your child sing random words (some are babble and some are recognizable). She sings most when she is in the car.
