A Month Full of Updates

So Glen and I have been ultra busy the month of October. Too bad we haven't had time to update the blog, because Lucy has been doing so much. Here are a few things:

She's become bored with the numbers 1-5, so she waits until we get to 6 and she counts up to 10.

She will kiss us when we ask for "besos."

She knows a lot of animal sounds (cow, sheep, pig, horse, duck, cat...). If you ask her what a rhinocerous says she'll sniff (because the Sandra Boynton book says "Rhinocerouses snort and snuff." Sometimes you can get her to say "ruff" for dogs but mostly she pants when you ask what a puppy says. If you specifically say "nueve perros" (nine dogs in Spanish) she'll let out a sweet little howl because at that point in her Spanish Boynton puppy book the dogs are hanging out on a moonlit night.

She LOVES music and dancing. Glen TiVos Austin City Limits and Jack's Big Music Show and Lucy sings and dances around the room when they watch them together.

She found out that she has TWO bunny blankets (Miss Bunny) when she saw them together in her room on the floor. She yelled out TWO! TWO! and picked them both up and held them close to her neck.

She's saying her ABC's with much more clarity. Now she is starting to know the placement of the letters rather than saying them in phrases or out of order. I didn't know a child this small could soak up so much information.

Lucy has added two more signs. She can sign Please and More.

Her vocabulary has grown in just a month. Her new words and phrases are:
Adios
See Ya
Please
Hola
Afuera (means out/outside... this one she has trouble with)
Out (in English)
What's that? (we hear that a LOT)
Oh No!(when Glen is running after her)
Happy
Sad
Good
Uh oh!
(Followed by)
I'll get it.

Putting shoes & other objects to her ear to play "cell phone" has fallen by the wayside and now she puts her hand to her ear and carries on an imaginary conversation. Today we overheard her saying "You're so funny" on her invisible phone.
